The iceberg that sank the famous Titanic ship has finally broken its silence after a century, saying it’s time to tell its side of the story.
In an isolated location deep within the Artic where it has relocated, one of News Yard’s senior reporters managed to track it down for it to share its version of the whole Titanic sinking account.
The iceberg, often accused of causing the tragic accident that caused Titanic to submerge on its debut voyage from England to the United States of America, said the story depicted in various movies and documentaries is not what exactly happened on that fateful day.
It indicated that for many years, it had not uttered a word not because it didn’t want to, but because it knew nobody would believe its version due to the bad publicity that the media had given it – causing it to lose its credibility.
The iceberg expressed its frustration with the constant labeling from people as being heartless and excessively cold – claiming the lives of more than 1,000 people. “I have feelings like anybody else so I get hurt deeply when I constantly hear such accusations. I am just a normal iceberg trying my possible best to navigate through this life,” it said.
According to the Iceberg, it was going about its routine duties on 15th April, 1912 when all of a sudden, the Titanic crashed into it. It said it had earlier warned the captain of the ship not to use that route by waving its icy arms in the air, but the captain didn’t seem to notice.
“I was just going about my routine duties when this massive ship unexpectedly crossed my path and crashed into me. This resulted in me injuring badly. The impact was massive, I must say so I was confined in bed for some months. The captain disobeyed my orders so I don’t understand why people keep pinning the blame on me for the ship’s fate. I really feel sad for what happened,” the Iceberg narrated.
It also addressed the accusations of conspiracy that it had premeditated the collision. The Iceberg debunked the assertion, saying there is no iota of truth in that and it didn’t conspire with anyone to bring the ship down.
The iceberg concluded the interview by urging people, especially the media, to stop accusing it of causing the fall of the Titanic.
